Odense-based Velatir raises €5 million to help European companies scale AI

Just six months after launching, Odense-based AI infrastructure company Velatir has raised €5 million (DKK 37 million) from a group of leading Nordic investors. The funding will support the company’s rapid European expansion and help accelerate its mission of enabling businesses to adopt AI securely and at scale.

The investment round includes Spintop Ventures, Ugly Duckling Ventures, Norrsken Evolve, EIFO, and Danish robotics industry profile Thomas Visti, former CEO of Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) and former CCO of Universal Robots.

Rapid growth from Odense

Founded in Odense, Velatir provides companies with control over security, compliance, and AI usage across AI tools, agents, and employees. The company has built its platform entirely on European-owned and European-hosted infrastructure, reflecting a growing demand for trusted and sovereign AI solutions.

The new funding follows strong commercial growth since the company’s launch and will be used to strengthen Velatir’s presence across Europe while expanding its team.

“Our mission is to make every company AI-native, and with this round, we are taking the next step on our journey towards becoming Europe’s fastest-growing AI company,” says Michael Sørensen, CEO and co-founder of Velatir.

Strengthening Odense’s ecosystem

The investment also highlights Odense’s growing position as a hub for advanced technology companies. Known internationally for its robotics cluster, the city is increasingly home to innovative software and AI companies attracting both talent and international capital.

Among the new investors is Thomas Visti, one of Denmark’s most recognised technology leaders, whose career has helped put Odense on the global robotics map.

Velatir has already created strong commercial momentum in a very short period of time, and the combination of team, timing, and market size makes Velatir an incredibly exciting investment case. This is not just another AI company. It is an entirely new category, and Velatir will win that category,” says Thomas Visti, business angel and founder of VISTI Unlimited

Building the next generation of European AI companies

With fresh capital and ambitious growth plans, Velatir joins a growing group of technology companies scaling internationally from Odense. The company’s success underlines the strength of the local innovation ecosystem and the region’s ability to support fast-growing businesses within emerging technologies such as AI.

As demand for secure and compliant AI solutions continues to grow, Velatir’s expansion represents another example of how companies founded in Odense are developing technologies with global relevance.
