Now the Door Says “ALS Odense” too

In May, ALS Limited bought DB Lab in Odense and now the 40 people working in Odense have more than 18,000 new colleagues at 350 laboratories and offices around the world.

“DB Lab has become part of a worldwide laboratory organization with diverse testing services in 263 life science locations. To be part of ALS creates tremendous opportunities for DB Lab and our customers. For example, the market potential for DB Lab as ALS member has already been substantially improved“, General Manager of ALS Odense Lisbeth Dahl Sørensen explains.

Lisbeth Dahl Sørensen further mentions: “ALS Odense’s sales team joins the European Pharmaceutical sales team, which is an ALS salesforce who knows how we work and what we can do. This has already given us access to and assignments from new international customers. DB Lab’s customers will benefit from the extended expertise and assignment possibilities in the ALS worldwide organization.”

ALS (Australian Laboratory Services) is an Australian company with headquarters in Brisbane, which has laboratories in more than 65 countries. The company does tests and analyses for clients within a wide range of different industries such as minerals, environment, food, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostics, to mention a few. ALS Global is strengthening its pharma activities and ALS Odense is part of that strategy. ALS’s comprehensive tests and services are based on safe and sustainable values.

30 Years of Experience

Next year ALS Odense will have performed GMP analyses within pharmaceuticals for 30 years. ALS Odense keeps the legal name DB Lab A/S and the same entity registration number. Thus, the registrations of the company with authorities will continue unchanged after the acquisition by ALS Limited. Odense will be part of ALS’s Northern Europe life science division, consisting of GMP-certified labs in Sweden, Ireland, England, and now Odense, Denmark.

Being part of such a big organization makes business easier in many ways. For example, ALS Odense has already exchanged know-how with colleagues around the world.

“For a company in Denmark, it takes a lot of effort to learn about national legislation in other countries. Now domestic colleagues make it easier for us to understand and enter new markets and to help international customers“, Lisbeth Dahl Sørensen says.

Life Science Fyn

ALS Global’s investment in Odense is not the only reason to keep an eye on Odense’s life science industry.

• In April, Life Science Fyn was founded to promote and strengthen the life science industry in and around Odense. More than 10 local life science companies, University of Southern Denmark and Odense University Hospital is part of the association (lifesciencefyn.dk).
