Nordic Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Conference in Odense – a global hotspot for proteomics
NordicMSP2025 is more than a scientific gathering. It sends a strong signal about the thriving biotech and life science ecosystem in Odense, where universities, hospitals, and companies collaborate closely. The conference strengthens Nordic cooperation and serves as a platform for recruitment, investment, and innovation.
Odense: A stronghold for proteomics
In September 2025, more than 350 international researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals will gather in Odense for the Nordic Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Conference (NordicMSP2025). The event will highlight cutting-edge research in proteomics, metabolomics, bioimaging, drug development, and related fields, firmly cementing Odense’s position whitin the field.
Odense and the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) are internationally renowned for research in proteomics and mass spectrometry. In 2025, this research tradition celebrates its 50th anniversary, marked among other events by the NordicMSP2025 conference.
“Odense has established itself as a global center for proteomics, with a strong concentration of research environments and companies contributing to a dynamic ecosystem. What makes Odense unique is the combination of world-class research, exciting career opportunities, and a city surrounded by nature, where a high-quality work–life balance is still possible. That’s quite rare in most large cities.”
Odense is home to several proteomics companies, such as Evosep and Alphalyse. In 2023, Novo Nordisk Foundation became a minority shareholder in Evosep with a US$40 million investment, while Alphalyse recently announced a new partnership with Fidelio Capital of Sweden. The strategic partnership is expected to accelerate Alphalyse’s international growth and position the company as a global leader in biological HCP impurity analysis.
A strong signal from a growing Life Science industry
The conference supports Odense’s ambition to be among Europe’s leading cities in the life science field.
“Life science holds tremendous potential here in Odense. When companies like Alphalyse attract international investments and we’re selected as host city for NordicMSP, it clearly underlines the strength of our ecosystem and shows that we’re on the right track. Odense is growing as a global life science center, where research, innovation, and industry go hand in hand.”
With its combination of scientific excellence, networking opportunities, and talent recruitment, NordicMSP2025 will be a key meeting point for professionals working with proteomics and mass spectrometry in the Nordics and another clear sign of Odense’s international leadership in the field.
