Dropla Tech ApS, a pioneering Odense start-up developing advanced mine detection and demining solutions, has successfully raised €2.4 million in a pre-seed investment round. The funding was led by Maj Invest with participation from EIFO and Final Frontier, marking a significant step in scaling the company and moving it closer to its goal of becoming an SME.

Odense’s Thriving Drone and Robotics Ecosystem

The Odense Robotics StartUp Fund incubator has served as a valuable toolbox throughout Dropla Tech’s early growth, providing hands-on support. The structured program helped the company move from its inception phase to a stronger foundation for scaling.

From the beginning, I knew we needed a strong and reputable platform – and in Europe, when it comes to robotics and drones, there’s no place like Odense.

CEO and Founder, Dropla Tech

Dropla’s decision to locate in Odense, supported by the €2.4 million funding, underscores the vitality of Odense’s robotics and drone ecosystem. The city has proven capable of attracting and retaining world-class startups like Dropla Tech, offering founders the networks, expertise, and targeted support they need to grow and scale.

Recent investments further underlines this:

  • BlinkTroll Robotics secured €1.5 million to expand their autonomous training systems
  • Dropla Tech raised €2.4 million to advance AI-based threat detection
  • Quadsat obtained €5 million in strategic investment to accelerate their electronic warfare capabilities

About Dropla Tech Aps

Founded by Ukrainian entrepreneur V’yacheslav Shvaydak, Dropla Tech has spent the past year refining its GNSS-denied georeferencing technology at the Odense Robotics StartUp Fund incubator at the Danish Technological Institute.

Their solution combines swarms of drones equipped with sensors to detect threats and generate digital maps with unmanned ground vehicles that clear vegetation and verify safe access for demining teams. The vehicles are designed to withstand blasts from anti-personnel mines and are already undergoing testing in Ukraine.

In addition, the company has introduced an edge AI system designed to operate without cloud dependency, ensuring reliable, offline threat detection. This independence makes the technology especially suited for challenging environments and aligns with NATO’s push for robust, autonomous C4ISR systems. The technology can detect landmines, unexploded ordnance, IEDs, and even ambush drones with sub-15 cm accuracy. Unlike solutions tested only in controlled labs, Dropla validates its technology at a dedicated proving ground with more than 170 confirmed explosive targets — ensuring real-world applicability and operational maturity.
